I believe the great divide will steadily grow between the born again and the “church goer” going forward. We will know them by their fruits as things grow worse! In my opinion a man truly called by God to pastor a church wouldn’t even consider using AI for a sermon….they’d be dependent on the Holy Spirit to guide them. Another solid article for us to ponder brother Scott, thanks. And everyone needs a good hard copy of the Bible before they taint that too! Shalom brothers and sisters…see ya at home soon!

Brad, I absolutely agree with you. I call it a winnowing fork.

Prophecy watchers just posted an amazing interview between Mondo G and Doug Van Dorn concerning how the rabbis changed their writings to discredit Jesus. . Woe to those who change God’s Word. …. Whether manually or through AI. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God for our God is a consuming fire. God watches over His Word to perform it and Jesus declared that not one jot or tittle will pass away …… all will be fulfilled. The deception, twisting, turning of God’s Word is not a new thing, go back and read Matthew 4. Truly the fool has said in his heart there is no God. Only someone that doesn’t know God, would try to “pull a fast one” thinking He wouldn’t know that someone has tried to manipulate it to deceive people. Praise God for those who watch over the purity of God’s Word.

Don’t forget cludge people over the head if they even THOUGHT about reading Isaiah 53.

Actually, it started in Genesis 3. Satan was a liar from the beginning

Thank you Scott for not being afraid to talk about a potentially massive elephant at the Kitchen Table with us. I am sure what you had to say to us will have been a revelation to some of us.

Even now there will be some, not please God, Watchmen and Watchwomen, who will be thinking: "So what?" After all John knew Gaius (spelling?), "so what's the problem? You fundamentalists are so picky". Having, at one time been part of those who sneered at people who actually believed the Bible was the 'inerrant' Word of God I can clearly 'hear' them. This is where we have the opportunity to exercise grace whilst still remaining absolutely committed to the inerrancy of scripture. I'm talking to myself as well.

It's funny how fundamentalists don't feel the need to mock those who don't believe the Bible is inerrant, rather like those who mock us for believing the Rapture will occur before the Tribulation and yet I don't recall any of those who do believe that making fun of those who don't, in fact I think we are usually sad about that.

I thank God my beloved and I came across a pastor who preaches verse by verse from the Word of God and also uses God's Word to show us how close we are to Jacob's Trouble. We have now been following his teaching online for a few years and have learned so much. He is Brandon Holthaus of Rock Harbot Church, Bakersfield, California. How ironic that, even though I am English, I have to turn to an American to learn true truth - and then there's you, and you have been an amazing help, despite some of what you are telling us goes right over my head. Don't forget, I cannot speak for America but in the UK a computer did not really become a household item until the early 1980's by which time I just was not interested until we moved to Cyprus 14 years ago and now learning anything is a real struggle - especially Greek!

I'm wittering, sorry, may the Lord continue to encourage us all and equip us for these increasingly dark days as lawlessness increasingly abounds. Tome over! Maranatha!

Love this Julia: “This is where we have the opportunity to exercise grace whilst still remaining absolutely committed to the inerrancy of scripture.” I hope you and Ian are continuing to improve!

On a totally different note, you know how you address the start of your Kitchen Table monologues? I am reading J B Hixson's latest book "Fade to Black - Rise of Global Tyranny" and, what do you know the Foreword is written by one Scott E Townsend! Now everybody says what an academician JB is and yet your style of writing, as well as the content of it, was equally academic BUT, thank God, highly acessible for us plebs.

Considering how gifted Dr Hixson is, it's amazing how easy he is to read and your foreword certainly encouraged me to read. Although I have to admit being a fan, I have all his books and I've read all of them!

It was an honor to write that forward. It was a spur of the moment decision when we were at the Last Days Bible Conference in Calgary, Alberta. JB has contributed a lot to my understanding. I highly recommend his books and teachings.

Me too, I have the NBW app.

I value the wisdom the Lord has given you, Julia. First in pointing out mockers of "Fundamentalists" and pre-trib mockers also.

Subconsciously I was aware of that but seeing it and writing from you drove the point home.

The Zeitgeist, the spirit of the age, likes to label people and really when Christians start categorizing and labeling each other it's fleshly and it's demonic and it's divisive .

Thanks for sharing your insights❣️

I have to tell you dear Susanna that I dispute the 'wisdom' "label" (sorry couldn't resist!). What God has given me however is a phenomenal memory, in fact my medic daughter once said that if I went gaga I would end up with the memory most people have prior to dementia!

You brought me a chuckle and dear sister, for the sake of humility, I can see the Lord has blinded you to the wisdom of your years😉💥. ❤️

Great distillation of dangers of using AI and Bible retrieval. I think this paragraph says it all: “AI has been trained on the entire religious corpus from all systems in the world. It is trained to be pluralistic by design. It is trained to support all lines of inquiry about spiritual matters in order to be “a helpful assistant” to a user. It will not direct people to Jesus Christ if they are a an atheist, Buddhist, Hindu, Mormon, etc. The AI will be perfectly supportive in allowing a person to remain in their false understanding. This leads to death.”

So much for being a helpful assistant!

Thanks!!

Scott E. Townsend's avatar

Thank you, Becky! From our point-of-view, you're right: AI is not a helpful assistant, unless you think of it from the enemy's perspective.

Thank you for your posts, Scott. Another truth is that God has created us with brains, to be thinkers. This topic of AI was just discussed with us at last week’s Bible study (Christ Community Church, West Covina, CA). A huge problem with people today is that we don’t THINK enough. We want immediate answers; not to struggle, ponder, dig deeper toward answers. Harsh as this may sound, I would consider any so-called Pastor who uses AI to write his messages, lazy and untrustworthy, as he is abdicating his responsibility for prayerful study and preparation to an unreliable worldly system. Just my thoughts.

Scott E. Townsend's avatar

I agree. When I write the Kitchen Table post for the current week, it is tough to start writing. It's not usually the blank page at the start. The problem is the weight I feel before the Lord. Sometimes what I write is raw thinking and it is bolder because there is passion that comes in the process of writing. Strong thinking + strong conviction blend. But that's one reason why I try to be encouraging in the challenge. It is definitely a knee shaking thing most weeks. Thanks for your feedback TS.

I appreciate your Kitchen Table postings, Scott! You pointed to AI as a "yoke"...absolutely!

I check my yoke daily...😉

I love the descriptive language you used, and i quote: "shot through my mind and sunk into my heart"...nice. I echo back that is how your faithful posts impact me.

Lord bless & Maranatha

Scott,

This is wisdom that should be shared with all of our pastors, to help the understand and not fall prey to the schemes of our enemy. Let all of your readers forward this to them, so wisdom can be spread throughout the church.

Scott E. Townsend's avatar

I appreciate you saying this. That's the goal. Not spread fear, uncertainty, or doubt, but strong critical thinking about what AI does and does not do well. Handling Scripture is a no-no from my point of view.

Scott,

I appreciate your knowledge and experience with AI, your heart for being a Watchman, it encourages me to also be a Watchman. I have seen you many times on the Prophecy Roundtables with John, Patrick, Brit and others. I live in the Phoenix area with Patrick and David Bowen, this area is very heavy Reformed from a theological thought when it comes to prophecy. Even the Calvary Chapel's don't seem to be offering much on prophecy from what I have seen, in that I have never noticed any conferences they have put on. Please pray for this area, David did have Tom Hughes, Patrick Wood, and Brandon Holthouse in the last year maybe 100 attended. Of course the remnant church is small everywhere, but as Watchman we don't grow weary in the work. Jesus is coming, the end is near, I am looking for His blessed appearing soon.

Brother, I am praying for you, don't lose heart, you truly are making a big difference in my understanding, and in thousands of lives. You are a great example of always pointing peoples attention to the One that matters, our Savior Jesus. Don't hold back, keep being bold, your redemption is soon, and very soon, we are going to see the King!

In Christ

I love what you wrote here: "as Watchman we don't grow weary in the work. Jesus is coming, the end is near, I am looking for His blessed appearing soon." I agree wholeheartedly. It's tough to be in the end times, but nothing like what is coming. Our ministry focus is for the lost...thank you for your encouraging words!
