Thank you Scott. It is 2:30 a.m. and I couldn’t sleep. The Word that you shared was so needed. I knew I needed to open my Bible but I couldn’t imagine where to, and so I didn’t, but you did. God’s Word is a salve to our souls.
I just have one fear, we are all alone here in Cyprus, although we do not doubt the Lord called us here 14 years ago, but God has never rescinded His call. My husband has been diagnosed with dementia and I am terrified and have a million "what if" questions. We cannot afford to go back to the UK and, anyway I doubt we could cope with the cold and wet weather and we cannot afford to pay for a carer, not that I would want an unbeliever. After said 14 years what few Christians we have encountered along the way do not believe in eschatology. There is not a person we have encountered along the way who does not know Whom we serve, yet we are alone and my biggest worry is what if the Lord tarries to the point Mt husband no longer knows me? What if he becomes violent?
I am going to write out all those scriptures because, very faintly, in the back of my mind, I 'heard', I think, a little cheer as I read them, slowly as you suggested.
For those who feel led, please pray for me and my husband, Ian, thank you, I am so glad I can be real with you all.
Julia, God bless you, Sis—being real is what we should uphold as the Body. I was a plastic person before I knew the Lord. He is the reward of life. Have comfort in this truth.
My Dad passed from Alzheimer's and it was a difficult time as we kept him at home. He had a tendency to go without telling anyone (a lot!), he was physical at times. The main thing I want to tell you is that God makes a way! Especially that your dear husband is a believer. Many times, Dad knew none of us but would sing the old hymns and peace would blanket him. The Holy Spirit can and will bring forth the power of His Word tucked away in his heart. Allow others to help you - they will come along. Fear not, sister. God bless and keep you.
And 'somebody' did from this very thread, I had not realised until they responded that what I was looking for was somebody who believes similarly that which I believe and who had been going through it longer and so, will know what I am going through. Isn't God good the way He has answered the prayers on this particular substack. Thank you so much.
I just wanted to comment here to encourage and uplift you. My wife, who just turned 51, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s dementia 3 years ago. I have similar fears and anxieties about her progression. I pray daily that our precious Savior will keep her healthy and happy in our time remaining on this earth. Jesus will sustain you and lift your spirits even when things get rough. Enjoy the small moments of joy with your husband, his smile or laugh that reminds you of better times. You will be in my prayers!
Oh golly gosh, that brought tears to my eyes, you are just what I need, you believe in Jesus and soteriology, who better to understand what I am going through? I have thought about joining a dementia group but it will be like talking to people whose language I no longer know.
I am going to give you an email of mine and, should you care to email me, I will explain the name. I do pray I hear from you.
Julia, I am praying for you! my husband‘s mother is also suffering from dementia. It’s hard.
Watch this,(hopefully I successfully added the link below.) I think it will help you because it sure cheered me up & refreshed my soul to renew my confidence!

Thanks for that, I do know Lee Brainard so what you are sharing is 'kosher' so I will watch it, thank you. However I am not sure I am singing from the same hymn sheet on the Ezekiel 38/39 war, but that does not nullify your kindness in sending it.
Thank you so much, God has been good and given me somebody from this group who not only believes that which I believe but is also going through what I am going through but has been going through it longer and so knows what I am experiencing. I never realised that that was what I was looking for - it has taken a great deal of weight off my shoulders.
Julia, I am deeply sorry about your current situation. I would like to share your prayer request through my church's ladies prayer chain group. I will only share your first name and summarize your request, let me know if that would be ok with you? God bless you sister. I will pray that the Lord keeps you before me often, to lift you up in prayer. See you someday soon at the Lord's wedding feast.
As I am English and live in Cyprus I doubt anybody will know my name but thank you all the same for your discretion I truly appreciate your offer and accept it with gratitude. This Kitchen Table group of Scott's is proving to be a gem and must bless the Lord so much. The Remnant Church is where Jesus' true bride is, I have not met such kindness from so many elsewhere.
Thank you Julia. I will share you need for prayer with the dear ladies from my church. God bless you and your dear husband. May He send support to you!
If any of your ladies would like to pray for us on a regular basis I do send updates out so perhaps you would care to email me to let me know as I send out updates to others. We moved to Cyprus at God's calling 14 years ago. Chris.madder@yahoo.com
Scott, thank you for this encouraging word with scriptures to meditate on! Technocracy Roundtable shows and discussions are very important to many of us that watch you guys! Keep doing them, please. :)
If we as true believers are at this late hour, still indulging in the pleasures of this world, permitting that leniency as some form of "comfort" from the pressures of these final hours, we are amiss. Self-indulgence in worldly affections, when handled as if they were some form of comfort-food to assuage our discomfort is a lie, and a trick of the adversary. Once we have partaken, it doesn't comfort, just like the bowl of icecream doesn't comfort. Rather, our anxiety, discouragement, fear, loneliness and weariness only remains, and is all the more weighty. I agree with you, Scott, we must require of ourselves to run to The Word of God, that is, the bible itself. The book. Not videos, not books or articles, not youtube, not podcasts and Christian commentaries, not chat rooms with other believers. Not venues of any sort, but the book of the bible itself. These may have a valid tertiary place in tools we implement to stay connected, strengthened and informed, but we err greatly when made primary. Only the working of the Spirit through the power of the God-breathed scriptures can truly guide, comfort, keep us on-track and encourage us onward in these black and treacherous hours. I love, and thank God for, the men and women God has permitted to have a voice and influence in these last days, but Jesus Christ Himself is The Word made flesh and we are to strengthen and comfort ourselves and our families in It first and foremost, without compromise or apology. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Amen.
Bing: this is good “Only the working of the Spirit through the power of the God-breathed scriptures can truly guide, comfort, keep us on-track and encourage us onward in these black and treacherous hours” Amen to that. This is one aspect of “mental toughness” that I’m working on.
Good word. I’ve been scratching my head over the cruises people continue to take. I wonder if all that $$ couldn’t be used better to spread the gospel to the Lost. We need to meditate on Ez 16:48-54. What was the iniquity of Sodom? The Holy Spirit reveals the initial sins of Sodom that led to the sexual uncleaness.
Vs49 - 50 Pride, Fulness of bread, abundance of idleness…nor did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty and committed abomination before Me.
Remember the progression in Romans 1 that led God to give them over to vile affections….thinking they were wise, they became fools.
Also if you are open to a heart cleansing go to http://Atheycreek.com Jeremiah near the end of the teaching list “Jehoi who?”. Leave time to sit before God afterwards.
May God richly bless us as we bathe in God’s word and let him remove the filth of the World from our entire beings. Maranatha!
...Hi Laura- my comment was in the context of worldly affections about which the Bible warns us not to love. Typically I wouldn't immediately categorize gardening or pets in that context. God encourages us to enjoy His good gifts. Still, as human creatures we have the propensity to get out of balance and over-focused on any number of things, including (or possibly, especially) even those "good gifts", and at some point the components of that focus could become sin for us. ❤️
Carrie Jo, I like this: “ I pray that our Abba will channel our restlessness into even more awareness of opportunities to witness to the lost.” Amen, Sis. Yes, please come to my “apartment “ because I plan to bake artisanal sour dough bread! Haha—if it’s permitted or even possible!
All I can say is Amen and Amen, God is in Control always 🙏 May we live each day as if it could be our last day on this Earth. May we get busy saving souls, because I feel time is short also. God Bless you Scott, Thank you for sharing. This really stirs the heart to be about Our Father's business. God Bless you All...😇
Wow, that's is really awesome 🥰 Thank you for Posting link, very important to leave things laying around to help whomever might be left behind 🙏🙏 even better convince people to get saved now..😇
Sadly by the time postage, packaging and the Cyprus Customs people have had their slice of the diminishing pie which is my pension, the cards will be worth their weight in gold - especially today!
My son has put a favourite LP of mine onto a CD and posted the CD on to me - he is in the UK. Cyprus Post are requiring customs duty, they have not told me how much yet, they require more details - doesn't that stink?
What a blessing you are, Scott! Thank you for these “pep talks”! And thank you for this lovely long list of Scriptures to commit to memory. The LORD continue to bless and keep you.
These Scriptures are just a start. I’m in a sprint to finish highlighting every word in my NASB Bible “large print” LOL. I’m in Deuteronomy and need to get to Ezra to finish. What a day that will be for me!
Good morning, Scott, Thank you for writing and sharing this most encouraging, much needed post. I'm blessed by your listening to the Holy Spirit who inspired you to remind us God's Word is always the lamp of light to refresh our weary souls. Maranatha 🙏🕊🇮🇱🕊🙏
Thank you, Scott, for all you do for the Body of Christ. You have no idea how much your gentle reminders mean to so many. Love you, my brother, and look forward to meeting you when the time comes!
Thank you, Carol. It’s what we all do for each other. I like how Pete calls his followers “the 310 tribe” I wish I could be so clever. A simple Brothers and Sisters is all I know to say. LOL

Perfectly timed post once again! I was wrestling with this very thing yesterday on a long drive to work. It’s more of fear mixed with dread. I challenge us all to be intentional in fasting and praying, at least once a week, for all believers worldwide to be strong and courageous in these final days, so that we can be a light in this dying world! What a contrast we will be if we can conquer fear and give the reason for the hope that is in us! But we can only do that with the help of the Spirit. We need your help, Lord! 🕊️
Barbie, I’m glad you mentioned fasting. I did a 3-day fast and discovered I was still among the living at the end haha. I’m planning to make this a regular feature each week
When Ian was younger and in good health, therefore not taking any medication, he was asked to preach on fasting and so he went on a seven-day fast despite only weighing about 120lbs and being 5' 9".. I have to admit not fasting that long but I used to fast regularly (I am talking about fasting from food not the ridiculous 'fasts' which the mainstream churches have cooked up - forgive the pun), but now with all the medication I need to take I daren't chance it and Ian has to take even more pills so he is not going to chance it any more. I have to say that I am totally unaware of it changing anything which I know is blasphemous but it was done in obedience and so we should not expect to be rewarded just for obeying, should we?
The sermon? He ended up talking to the end of the tape and a new one had to be added! There was no sign of restlessness whilst he was preaching either, even his wife was impressed!
Bless your heart Brother as always for your very timely posts. I will be writing the scripture verses out to have to hand and will also post them up in this little Prayer/Bible space here at home!
